Brazilian festival awards Iran’s ‘Angles Do Not Die’

The Iranian film, ‘Angels Do Not Die,’ directed by Alireza Biglari, received the Best Actor and Best Director awards at the Brazil International Monthly Independent Film Festival (BIMIFF) in Brazil.

On his social media page, Biglari dedicated the film to the first Iranian nurse who sacrificed her life to save others during the first weeks of the coronavirus pandemic in Iran, ifilmtv.com reported.

He also dedicated his work to all hospital staff that help save human lives around the world.

The nine-minute Iranian film, written, produced, and directed by Biglari, tells the story of a doctor who has contracted the coronavirus while helping those infected with the disease, ifilmtv.com reported.

He goes home, but his soul is upset and depressed by what he has seen during the time in the hospital and the intensive care unit. However, eventually, hope is revived with the encouragement of the world.

The short film was screened at the I Will Tell International Film Festival in the UK, the Early Bird International Student Film Festival in Bulgaria, and the Berlin Flash Film Festival in Germany.

The short film has recently won the Best Film Award at the ninth Mont. Blanc International Film Festival (MBIFF) in France, and an honorable mention at the first edition of the Ifaindie Film Awards in India. The BIMIFF is an online film event which gives filmmakers from around the world the opportunity to interact with other professionals in the business while showcasing their creative products.
