Top financial firm’s new technology centre to be based at City Quays 2

- BY JOHN MULGREW

FINANCIAL services giant Tullett Prebon is to set up its new technology hub at Belfast Harbour’s flagship City Quays 2 building.

The London-based company announced last year that it was heading to the city in a move that would create 300 jobs.

Now it can be revealed the firm will be one of the first and largest tenants of the under-construction Laganside development.

City Quays 2, which is nearing completion, sits alongside the now fully let City Quays 1 building.

The new technology centre will support Tullett Prebon’s international growth strategy. The jobs involved — with an average salary of £33,000 — will come on stream over the next three years or so.

Belfast Harbour would not confirm reports the company was moving in.

“Work on City Quays 2 is progressing well with completion due later this year,” it said.

“Its sister office, City Quays 1, was fully let within nine months of completion, and interest in City Quays 2 is similarly strong.”

City Quays 1 is base to international law giant Baker McKenzie, US technology firm Cayan and course booking system GolfNow.

Tullett Prebon is currently hir- ing staff for its new Belfast operation.

It has already begun recruitment of business analysts, software development engineers and project and quality assurance managers.

Tullett Prebon’s move here is just the latest major financial services business to expand into Northern Ireland.

Last year the Belfast Telegraph revealed that FinTrU was taking offices at Carleton House at the Gasworks Business Park in the south of the city.

And Citi is expanding and taking over several floors of a former Danske Bank building in Belfast.
