Caffe Nero expansion continues with new branch on Belfast’s Ormeau Road
CAFFE Nero is opening up its latest coffee shop in the busy Ormeau Road area of south Belfast.
The coffee chain, which now has two-dozen locations across Northern Ireland, is taking on a vacant building on a 10-year lease.
Last summer the Belfast Telegraph revealed the company was looking at three new locations on the Ormeau and Lisburn Roads, and another close to the Waterfront Hall.
Advised by commercial property agents TDK, Alterity Investments bought the property, with Caffe Nero agreeing to take on the ground floor unit.
Richard Faloon of Alterity Investments said: “Working with TDK we were delighted to identify this location and have assisted Caffe Nero to continue their expansion programme across Northern Ireland.
“Ormeau Road is an extremely strong location, which we are confident will benefit from the presence of Caffe Nero”.
Mark Thallon of TDK said that the food and beverage sector was “undergoing a renaissance in Northern Ireland and has expanded beyond Belfast city centre over the past two years”.
“Alterity Investments are at the forefront of developing purpose-built destinations for operators having had recent success with Boucher Square, Belfast, which houses Prezzo, Nando’s, Frankie & Benny’s, Eddie Rockets and Costa Coffee.

Caffe Nero is one of the fastest growing coffee shop businesses here, going from a handful of stores to more than 20.
It has a dozen shops in Belfast alone, including the former Delaney’s cafe in Fountain Street and one in House of Fraser.
Caffe Nero opened several new locations last year, including at Royal Avenue and at the Soloist building near the Waterfront Hall, and at Ballyhackamore in the east of the city.
