A BRUSH WITH ART WHICH WELL-KNOWN NI BROADCASTER PAINTED THIS SCENE?
ONE of Northern Ireland’s most popular radio presenters has turned his talents to painting.
Veteran broadcaster Walter Love is among more than 20 local artists showcasing their work at this year’s Temple Arts Festival.
The artists will be at Drumalig Studios on May 7, painting picworkshop, tures, making portraits, sculpting, throwing and decorating pots, making jewellery, crafting cards, working with textiles and making glass beads.
The one-day event will also feature airbrush artist Anete Vidnere.
She came to Northern Ireland from her native Latvia aged 16 with her mum 10 years ago.
She studied art and photography before training in a car body and later turned her skills to car painting and restoration.
Anete said: “For car lovers, the car they drive is an extension of themselves, a way to express who they are.
“My dream is to build a studio workshop where anyone can bring their vehicle and have it turned into something truly unique, a piece of art, the more challenging the idea the better.”
The festival will be packed with “live” excitement, with artists revealing their skills while being available to chat, give demonstrations and provide inspiration.
Festival organiser Felicity Graham, a ceramic artist, said: “Watching a work of art emerge is always a magical experience.
“We hope people will come and soak up the atmosphere of real art studios, enjoy meeting the artists and have a memorable and fun occasion.”
The festival is at Drumalig Studios, 133 Carryduff Road, Temple, from 11am-6.30pm next Saturday, May 7.
