Tragic baby Charlie not allowed home to die

CHARLIE Gard’s parents say they have been denied their final wish to be able to take their son home to die.

Chris Gard and Connie Yates from London wanted 10-month- old Charlie, who suffers from a rare genetic condition and has brain damage, to be allowed to die at home.

But they say Great Ormond Street Hospital has denied them this request and the baby’s life support will be switched off today.

AN 18-year-old man arrested by police investigat­ing a road crash in Londonderr­y has been released on bail pending further enquiries. A 67-year-old woman who was seriously injured in the collision on Victoria Road on Tuesday remains in hospital. on YouTube, Charlie’s parents said they are “utterly heartbroke­n”. They added: “We’re not allowed to choose if our son lives and we’re not allowed to choose when or where Charlie dies.”

It comes after the couple lost a marathon legal battle to stop his life support from being turned off.
