Priest pays tribute to ‘wonderful little boy’ as Kayden (3) buried
A TODDLER who died suddenly was a “wonderful little boy” who has “gone straight into the arms of God”, a priest at his funeral said.
Mourners gathered on Saturday to pay their final respects to little Kayden McLaughlin-McGuinness.
The threeyear-old was found dead in his bed at his home in Londonderry’s Bogside two weeks ago.
The hearse, filled with floral tributes spelling ‘Brother’, ‘Son’ and ‘Kayden’, made its way slowly to St Columba’s Church, Long Tower.
Kayden’s devastated parents Erin McLaughlin and Kyle McGuinness held loved ones tightly as they walked behind their son’s tiny white coffin into the church.

said Kayden was full of wonder and innocence.
He told mourners the pain of his parents was “unbearable” and his family are “numb”.
“We know that Kayden has gone straight to the Kingdom of Heaven. A kingdom where little ones have instant access,” he said.
Following the Mass of the Angels, Kayden was laid to rest in Derry’s City Cemetery.
Kayden was discovered dead in his Columbcille Court home on September 17.
Police arrested a 23-year-old man last weekend. He was later released on bail pending further enquiries.
