Joy of TV’s Eamonn as his son gets engaged
PROUD dad Eamonn Holmes took to Twitter last night to announce his “Number 1 Son” is getting married.
The This Morning presenter revealed last night that his son Declan has become engaged to fiancee Dr Jenny Gouk, who showed off her new sparkler on social media.
Popular telly presenter Eamonn — whose wife and TV partner Ruth Langsford is currently taking part in Strictly Come Dancing — tweeted: “I am proud to announce the engagement today of Number 1 Son Declan and his now fiancee Dr Jenny Gouk.
“Much happiness in both our families.”
Congratulations poured in from family, fans and friends of the newly-engaged couple.
Broadcaster Holmes (57) lives in Surrey with wife Ruth Langsford (57) and their teenage son, Jack. He has three grown-up children, Declan, Rebecca and Niall, from his first marriage.
Declan (28) the owner and founder of Gallopers Beer, responded: “Good news travels fast — thanks Dad!” and laughed that he was off to his restaurant The Bar + Grill in Belfast to celebrate.

Friends were quick to wish the couple well.
Lauren Hogan wrote: “Congratulations you two! You kept that one quiet Declan!”
He replied: “Element of surprise.”
Belfast gin entrepreneur Gerry White added: “Congratulations Declan Holmes and Jenny Gouk. Wishing you both every happiness. You must be a very proud dad Eamonn Holmes. Let the party be-gin.”
Declan responded: “Thanks Gerry, few Jawbox (gins) to celebrate we think.”
Declan launched his beer business in 2015, with a little help from his famous dad.
Eamonn joined forces with Declan to bring Gallopers craft beer to the market.
The brand is built around the north Belfast tale of Galloper Thompson.
Legend has it that local man Gordon Thompson told his friends if he did not find a place in Heaven he would come back and haunt the streets of Belfast.
Eamonn said at the time the beer was launched: “I thought up the name, Declan thought up the brew and he has worked very hard to build the brand.”
For his part, Declan has welcomed the contribution dad Eamonn has made to making the craft beer business a success.
He said: “I’m quite new in the business world and with working with my dad and brother, it’s good for me to be able to get some advice on how to run a family business successfully. It can be very different, working with your family as opposed to strangers as employees.
“We tend to just throw our ideas out and fight it out amongst each other, but generally we’re very good when it comes to business.
“He’s my role model. He always said he didn’t get where he is without hard work and graft and that has rubbed off on me.”
