MUSIC Jack conjures up some magical music

The very talented Jack Lukeman returns to the province, as part of the Fermanagh Live Arts Festival.
Lukeman scored a big hit with his 2012 sell-out tour of The
27 Club in which the Co Kildare singer/songwriter paid a musical tribute to prematurely deceased musical greats including Kurt Cobain, Amy Winehouse and Jim Morrison, who all tragically died at the age of 27.
He followed up with his equally successful King of Soho concept, in which he introduced audiences to a varied selection of weird and wonderful characters.
In his current Magic Days tour, Lukeman delivers some selfpenned numbers ranging from glam rock-era pomp to bluesy pop, via just a guitar and his rich, baritone voice, although it’s likely that a few of the unfortunate members of the 27 Club might just slip into his set.

Describing The Rubberbandits as a comedy hip hop act doesn’t even begin to do justice to their stage show, in which elusive Limerick lads Blind Boy Boat Club and Mr Chrome, who favour wearing masks made out of supermarket plastic bags to protect their identities, serve up a variety of outrageous characters and songs both satirical and surreal and certainly not for the easily offended.
They have numerous Irish television appearances, award nominations and chart successes to their credit, and their current tour, entitled Gammon Wranglers, gets its debut at Mandela Hall tomorrow night, as part of the Belfast Comedy Festival.

With over 120 million albums sold worldwide during a career spanning six decades, Neil Diamond probably has more singalong songs in his musical armoury than just about any other artist.
