RTE presenter Sean O’Rourke apologises over hunger strikers chuckle

-

George Young: Hard to believe RTE would employ someone not totally sold on republican propaganda.

Michael O’Sullivan: Says a unionist who’s only in the North due to a foreign British religious ideology and political movement that involved the massacre of two million Irish people in their own land. Colin Ryan: George Young, you are really openly ignorant. If you notice people around you shaking their heads in disbelief, now you know why.

Geoff Burtney: Nor can you justify the naked sectarian slaughter of men, women and children by the Provos simply for being Protestant. Michael O’Sullivan: Is that the sectarian war started by the UVF, Geoff? Whose main aim was to ethnically cleanse the North of its Irish Catholic people. How do you justify loyalist paramilitaries killing?

Aoife O’Neill Cousins: The hunger strikers had more principles than any politician, North or South. Brave men who were suppressed for years had to fight back and I totally respect them. I would say to the people who are making what they think are funny remarks, go home, read your history books and make a decision based on knowledge. Being ignorant is not a thing to be proud of. But, then again, some are not worth educating. Daithi James: He should be sacked.

Seamus O’Reilly: RTE are a bunch of pro-EU traitors. The idea that they are a ‘national’ broadcaster is a joke. There is nothing national about them. They survive (like the BBC) on enforced payment by the people. If they relied on subscriptions, they wouldn’t last a year.
