Girlfriend of tragic drug death teen pays tribute to ‘loyal and loveable’ boyfriend
THE girlfriend of a Co Down teenager who died after apparently taking deadly pills has spoken of her devastation of his sudden and shocking death.
Saintfield teenager Jonathan Ramsey (18) is believed to have taken two of the pink UFO pills, which are similar to ecstasy, before dying in hospital on Tuesday morning.
He is survived by his mother, father, four brothers and grandmother.
His girlfriend of over a year, Nicole Clarke (18), was with Mr Ramsey when he died.
She said: “He was honestly the most nicest boy I knew, and I loved the bones of him.
“He was always smiling and he always made everyone around him smile. I can’t believe he died and he didn’t deserve it. I miss him so much.
“My friend introduced me to him, and I honestly can’t thank her enough because he was the best thing that happened to me, he made me so happy.
“He was the most loyal, committed, loveable boyfriend and meant everything to me.
“He made me feel like I was loved and he always told me how much I meant to him and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me.
“He made my life so easy. He knew I have depression and anxiety and he helped me cope with it.
“He supported me through everything and I supported him and honestly he’s the most amazing boy you could ever meet.
“He made sure everyone around him was happy, even if it was putting them before himself.
“He lived with me and he used to make sure he knew how much I loved him. He used to roll over every morning and say he loves me even if I was asleep.
“He is going to be greatly missed and I honestly believe he is watching over everyone.
“Honestly, he would want me to be strong and hold on. I have spoke to him or spent the day with him since we’ve been together, it’s going to be hard not being able to hug him and talk to him.
“But I’m going to try and be strong for him.”
The PSNI have confirmed they are looking into his death and they are searching for the lethal batch of ‘UFO’ pills.
They contain PMA, which is similar to MDMA, the chemical in ecstasy. However, PMA is more poisonous and can kill at lower doses than MDMA. Also like MDMA, it can cause a fatal rise in body temperature.
