Armstrong warns leaders Malone to retain focus

FOUR games in and Malone find themselves top of the 2A table having won all their games with their previous AIL outing seeing Paddy Armstrong’s side run up a whopping 70 points against Galwegians.

This time they are on the road at ninth-placed Blackrock, though the Dubliners will be fairly confident after having surprisingly taken Armagh’s scalp last time out.

Coach Armstrong said: “We are delighted with the start and theboysdeserveitwiththehard work they have put in, but nothing has been achieved yet and we’re not even a quarter of the way through the season.”

Armstrong is without Jack Owens after he shipped an injury while playing for Ulster ‘A’ and Andy Bryans comes in at full-back.

Third-placed Armagh host Nenagh, the side above them, with Willie Faloon’s players aiming to get back to winning ways.

Elsewhere, sixth meet seventh as Queen’s University travel to Galwegians.

In 2B, the main event is the Ulster derby when eighthplaced Dungannon host Rainey Old Boys, who are up in fourth place, while City of Derry, who are down in ninth, have a tough task at home to league leaders Old Crescent.

Basement side Belfast Harlequins meet Barnhall.

As for 2C, Omagh will be looking to bounce back after the break which saw them fall to their first reverse of the campaign at Sligo.

The Accies — who are in fourth — host bottom side Tullamore. Meanwhile, second-placed Bangor are at Malahide.
