Younger generation spurning Christianity
SACRIFICE and service in the cause of Christ seems to have missed a generation.
All the truly godly people I am acquainted with are over 50 years of age — many well into their 70s, 80s and 90s.
A lifetime of sanctification and service will not permit them to remove themselves from the theatre of war when souls are in peril and the cause of Christ is undermined.
What an indescribable gift they are to this nation from the most high: “Yet gleaning grapes shall be left in it, as the shaking of an olive tree, two or three berries in the top of the uppermost bough, four or five in the outmost fruitful branches thereof, saith the Lord God of Israel (Isaiah 17:6).”
To those men of this younger generation, I say: “Consider your ways.” Look at the dearth of Christians in the political sphere or, indeed, in any place of influence in the UK today.
What are you doing with what God has given you? Burying your talents, saving yourselves, seeking a quiet life? It will not happen, my friends. God will not be mocked. What you sow, you shall also reap.
If he cannot work through you, he will work without you,butyouwillbemuch the poorer for it.
What will your answer be to the almighty God when called to account? What when your children grow up and say: “Father, what did you do to prevent these things from happening; what did you do in the war?”
Look upon the older men and follow their example. Do whatever you can with whatever God has given you.
This older generation looks on in utter amazement at the relinquishing of every soldier’s duty to sacrifice and service. Best rouse yourselves before the last of the godly are taken away. Will it be only then you will cry out to God?
It appears a whole generation of Christian men have gone AWOL.
