I’ll win in style on big Belfast return: Jackal

CARL Frampton says he is refreshed and ready to deliver an explosive display at Belfast’s SSE Arena on Saturday night.

Frampton, who faces Mexican Horacio Garcia, has endured the hardest year of his career after losing his WBA World featherweight title to Leo Santa Cruz in January and then subsequently suffering a period of inactivity as well as splitting from manager Barry McGuigan.

The former World super-bantamweight and featherweight champion (below) is determined to show that linking up with new coach Jamie Moore and promoter Frank Warren was the right decision as he seeks to work his way back to the top.

“I know the spotlight will be on me and Jamie on Saturday night, people listening to the corner and watching how I perform but I’m very confident that

I’ll be back to my best and you’ll see an exciting, explosive performance,” said the Jackal.

“I’m certainly not taking Garcia for granted. He’s got a good knockout ratio, is very tough and has been in with world-class operators. I feel really good, I know I have a lot more to give and I want to go in there on Saturday night and give my fans another good night. Going back to fight in Belfast for the first time in nearly three years is going to be special.”

While most auditorium tickets for Saturday night’s bill have been taken up, a number of £100-plus priced tickets remain available.
