MUSIC Folk songs for the soul from quintet

-

Empire Music Hall, Belfast Tonight, 8.30pm

Formed in 2010 following a very productive jam session between friends, this five-piece Limerick folk rock band has been steadily building a reputation as a mustsee live band all over the world, having played shows in South Africa, Australia, New York, Canada, Dubai, France and London.

In 2015, they were signed to Sony Music Ireland and in March 2016 they released their debut studio album, Save Your Soul. It’s an eclectic mix of full-on, stadium-friendly songs, interspersed with heartfelt and poetic ballads.

The album is essentially Irish music but with a global flavour, blending pitch-perfect, four-part harmonies with a wide array of instruments including bodhran, djembe, rhythmic guitar and banjo.

They have Ivor Novello, AIM and Grammy award nominations to their credit and their songs have appeared on the soundtrack of hit movies including T2:Trainspotting, Detour and Ghostbusters.
