Shocking that Trump is stirring up hatred

-

THE fact that Donald Trump retweeted anti-Muslim videos posted by Jayda Fransen, the deputy leader of Britain First, raises a number of questions about the role of the President in harnessing peace in society.

As a leader of the free world, Trump is meant to unite people, rather than creating divisions and conflicts. This type of behaviour on social media is unacceptable from the President of the US.

The series of unverified videos give a totally unbalanced and wrong impression of Islam and serve only to incite hatred.

Whether Trump knew of Fransen or not, it is shocking to promote such provocative ideas without understanding the context and repercussions.

Influential world figures should remember that spreading hatred has consequences and should be more responsible when it comes to this.

It is another act of further exacerbating Islamophobia.

Regrettably, we often hear leaders or groups making needlessly inflammatory statements that are beholden not to the truth, but to their own political interests.

There are countless incidents of violence every day involving non-Muslims.

If all started to spread those videos, it will just cause chaos, hatred and conflict.

In the face of hate and adversity, it is my faith as an Ahmadi Muslim which compels me to respond with love and to manifest peace at all times to all people.
