AFTER last week’s fixtures being postponed because of the snow, the St Paul’s tournament had a busy weekend with all three games played.

It began on Saturday at midday, when Lurgan’s Clann Eireann were shocked by St Eunan’s of Letterkenny on a scoreline of 0-13 to 0-11.

The score was 0-9 each at the end of normal time. At half-time of extra-time, Clanns were actually two points up, but a late scoring salvo of four points in the second period got the Letterkenny lads over the line.

Over at the Woodlawns pitch, Enniskillen Gaels underlined their fancied credentials with a number of county minors on the panel, when they had a comfortable win over Ramor United of Cavan, the score finishing 3-12 to 2-4.

A thumping finish to the net from Callum Jones in the first half was followed by second half goals from John Reihill and Conor Love. They now play St Eunan’s in the semi-final at Shaw’s Road this Saturday at noon.

Errigal Ciaran, with five players on the Tyrone All-Ireland winning under-17 team, were shocked in the last game of the weekend when Ballinascreen pushed on to beat them by two points, 1-10 to 1-8 after having been drawn level at 1-4 each at half-time. Emmet Duggan’s goal put them in control and now they meet O’Donovan Rossa in the other semi-final.

In the ladies’ minor final, the Errigal Ciaran ladies restored club pride, beating Clann Eireann of Armagh 2-13 to 3-8. Big shock: Errigal Ciaran’s Darragh Canavan with Caoilte McAlinden of Ballinascreen
