Parents welcome Christmas Day babies into the world
AS MOST of Northern Ireland was getting stuck into their Christmas turkey dinner, in hospitals all over the province expectant mums were bringing their bundles of joy into the world.
Among Northern Ireland’s Christmas Day mums was west Belfast woman Kellyanne Kinnaird, (25, right) cradling her first-born daughter, Aria.
It wasn’t easy, Kellyanne told the Belfast Telegraph last night.
“It was a bit of a struggle — I had to be started early — but once it was started, there was no waiting about.
“I’m feeling great. I’m over the moon,” the happy mum said.
Baby Aria — who weighed in at 7lb 3oz — looked sweet and cosy in a lovely pink pom pom hat — bought for the new baby by her uncle, Anthony — Kellyanne’s brother.
“I’m hoping to get Aria home tomorrow, if everything’s fine,” she said.
Another west Belfast mum — Niamh Agnew (26) sounded tired but very happy after bringing her baby Holly into the world.
Little Holly Caldwell weighed in just a couple of days late at 6lb 8oz, mum Niamh said last
night. But she said dad — footballer Ciaran Caldwell — had been “shattered” as Holly’s debut neared. “Ciaran’s feeling 10 times worse than I am,” Niamh said.
“He’s shattered. He’s absolutely exhausted. He’s working on autopilot now...”
Holly is Niamh’s first child — and like Kellyanne, the west Belfast woman is looking forward to bringing her beautiful new daughter home.
