Tenants lining up for office blocks as £16m refurbishment continues
MAJOR tenants are already in discussions about moving into two soon-to-be refurbished Belfast office buildings as part of a £16m investment.
Damian Mitchell, property director of developer Paddy Kearney’s Causeway Asset Management, said it’s spending the money to revamp its Nine Lanyon Place and Chichester House buildings.
“We are in discussions with some (tenants)... but they want to see you on site. The market needs to see it’s real,” he said.
“We are in talks, but we want to take the building to a point, but engage with an end user.”
Work is under way on both Nine Lanyon Place, which is currently home to Allstate, and Chichester House.
“We started in the main common area (at Nine Lanyon Place) and we are going to be spending £8m on it,” he added.
He said the first tenants could be in place by as early as the third quarter of this year.
As regards Chichester House, he said that following an initial strip-out, more substantial work is due to begin later this month.
Mr Mitchell added that tenants could be in as early as the start of next year, and it’s already in talks with companies which could rent as much as half of the building.
