Hungry Conrad stays busy as he aims to make big impact in 2018

CONRAD Cummings will return to the ring on February 10 at the Devenish Complex.

Coalisland middleweight Cummings will be hoping to have a good warm-up ahead of a title fight on the undercard of Carl Frampton’s showdown with fourweight world champion Nonito Donaire at the SSE Arena on April 21.

“I want to have this fight and then I want to get a few championship 12-rounders after this, but you don’t know how things will go or what fights will arise. I just want to crack on and take whatever opportunity comes,” said Cummings.

“Everyone’s calling me out. Every time I’m on Twitter there seems to be someone calling me out. I don’t know whether that’s a good thing or a bad thing, I’ll take it as a compliment. Bring them all on. Whatever opponent makes sense, let’s get it on. It’s all about the right fight at the right time.”

The show will also feature Belfast prospects Padraig McCrory and Sean Magee.

Meanwhile, Anthony Cacace was dealt a blow when the British Boxing Board of Control somehow decided to match Maxi Hughes with Sam Bowen for the vacant British super-featherweight title.

Cacace was the obvious man to be matched with Bowen, having lost a close decision to former champion Martin Ward in the summer.

Cacace’s manager Pat Magee said: “I am very disappointed with the decision.”
