Same-sex marriage will be beginning of the end
SINCE the collapse of the Stormont talks there seems to be quite a push by pro-LGBT sympathisers and publicity agents to promote once more the fiction of equal marriage. Lest readers forget the other side of the argument, can I once more state that:
1.Marriage is and can only be between a man and a woman, and has been so since the beginning of time, for only by the joining of those two bodies can the human race be propagated. Children brought up with a mother and a father, as nature intended and as studies all show, bring the best results.
2. Once marriage is changed, it opens the way to further change, eg the recent BBC Scotland documentary on polyamory which was approvingly covered and recent moves in Canada to do the same. Do the people in Northern Ireland want a sexual free-for-all where one can have as many husbands or wives as they wish?
3. The LGBT community itself is divided on the subject. Quite a percentage do not want it as it would restrict their relationships.
But behind it are the real activists who themselves have said quite openly that samesex marriage is only another step in the deconstruction of marriage altogether, which they detest, to be replaced with total sexual liberation.
Society has always had boundaries, and they are there for a good reason. There will always be those who want to go beyond them, but they do so at their peril and also that of society as a whole.
So, please, don’t be duped into thinking same-sex coupling can ever equate with marriage.
