NORTHERN Ireland’s latest listed company has given details of its support from economic development agency Invest NI, also a major shareholder.
Fusion Antibodies in west Belfast, which floated on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) last year, said it had received confirmation of grants of £15,450 from Invest NI, which it described as a “long-standing supporter”.
It said the grants made since it had listed were made up of £13,000 in an employment grant for two employees. Another £2,450 consisted of skills advancement grants for staff and directors. Its admission document in December also revealed other Invest NI grants of £45,674 in the year ending March 2017.
Over the following six months, there had been grants of £29,481. The company carries out antibody engineering services for therapeutic drug and diagnostic applications. It said it had also claimed grant payments of £1,630 for export market visit support.
The firm added: “Fusion will continue to utilise the grant funding available to it from Invest NI insofar as it is available and therefore anticipates that there will be further transactions of this nature.”
Paul Kerr, chief executive of Fusion Antibodies, said: “We’re delighted with the support we have received from Invest NI to date. They continue to stand by us as we expand the business and the addition of these grants is an important part of our growth strategy.
“We look forward to our future collaborations with Invest NI and will keep shareholders updated with our continued activities.”
