OAP injured in fall during burglary out of hospital

A TYRONE pensioner who was left critically injured after falling from an upstairs window during a burglary has been released from hospital.

However, police appear to be no closer to catching the gang that terrified her.

It is understood that Pat Davidson (83) from Aughnacloy is recovering from her ordeal in a care home and hopes to return to her own house later this year.

She suffered a fractured skull, spine and pelvis when a fourman gang raided her home on January 23, and was found lying beneath an upstairs window by a local man.

Officers believe the victim may have fallen from a bedroom window while trying to escape as her house was ransacked.

The incident sparked revulsion in the community.

Last night the PSNI said it had no further update on the investigation since they last made a statement on February 13.

Then Detective Chief Inspector John Caldwell said: “The investigation is ongoing into this horrific incident and we are continuing to follow a number of lines of enquiry connected to the attempted murder and the three other burglaries in the Aughnacloy, Ballygawley and Seskinore areas, which we believed are linked.

“We will continue to investigate this appalling incident and I would appeal to anyone who has any information about the burglaries to contact detectives in Dungannon.

“We have set up an incident room in Dungannon to deal with any information. Please call 101 extension 53135 quoting reference 1218 of 23/01/18.”
