New practice puts focus on people and change

BUSINESS advisory firm Grant Thornton is opening a new department in its Belfast office focusing on people and organisati­ons.

And it has appointed Patrick Gallen as a partner to head up the new ‘people and change consulting’ practice.

It will provide support to businesses who are making plans for the future of their workforce, including handling changes resultant from General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Mr Gallen has nearly 30 years experience in the field.

Richard Gillan, managing partner of Grant Thornton, said: “Patrick’s appointmen­t is a significan­t step for Grant Thornton and one which will help facilitate our continuing exponentia­l growth.

“With ongoing digital technology developmen­ts and the imminent introducti­on of GDPR, our new practice will help businesses across a wide range of sectors ensure they manage change effectivel­y and maximise the opportunit­ies that change presents.

Mr Gallen said the new practice would be operating in “a period of great change for the country, the economy and our clients”.
