Barnardo’s using Sinn Fein to support new campaign
Linda Kelly: This must be a great comfort to Jean McConville’s orphans.
Jim Crane: Sinn Fein were not responsible for the murder of Jean McConville.
Carol Anne Mitchell:
Jim Crane, do you know something the rest of us don’t? Have you not heard about the Boston College tapes (you remember: the ones Gerry was questioned over), where Brendan Hughes stated that Gerry Adams ordered the abduction, disappearance and murder of Jean McConville?
Jim Crane: Carol Anne Mitchell, Sinn Fein are a democratically elected political organisation, who are not responsible for the deaths of anyone. If you have evidence to prove otherwise, then I suggest that you bring it to the relevant authorities.
Derek Blackshaw: Carol, it’s a pity people like yourself weren’t so outraged and vocal when it came to the Army, or loyalists, carrying out slaughter.
Freddie Sands: My goodness, that’s rich from a party whose military wing helped to create many orphans.
Ann Armstrong: Ino longer support Barnardo’s since they would not take up a search for me when I’d been trying for 30 years to find my Italian father, whom I’d never met. Their reason was “because I was born illegitimate”.
Hilary and Brian Montgomery: Ridiculous. And very, very stupid. Made me think twice about donating. There are more worthwhile causes out there. Shame on you, Barnardo’s.
Stevie McCabe: Whataboutery at its best here.
Peter Bower: They have lost my support. Gavin Nixon: I don’t know what they were thinking of. Not been a good month of publicity for charities.
Kenny Rutledge: Barnardo’s really are scraping the barrel.
Andrew Frazer: Show-stopper. Well done.
Philip Walsh: Does this never stop? There are two sides to every story.
Liz Fahy: Won’t be supporting Barnardo’s again.
