JAR Technologies has been sold to Calnex, which is based in Linlithgow.
Technology developed by the Belfast firm is used in mobile, data centre and military/ security settings. JAR clients include Thales, Toshbia and Siemens.
The company, based on James Street in Belfast, was founded by James Hunter (right ) in 2012. JAR said its mission is to help businesses and organisations improve online.
“Our testing products enable businesses to get predictable infrastructure and software performance,” it added.
Ryan McAnlis, chief executive of JAR Technologies, said: “The Calnex acquisi- tion of JAR Technologies enables the JAR-Emulate product line to reach a much broader range of customers and applications.”
It’s the second Northern Ireland firm to be sold on this week after Belfast-based Camperco Group was bought by Australian motorhome firm Apollo for £4.5m.
The Camperco group consists of rental brand Bunk Campers, a manufacturing facility converting Volkswagen campervans for rent, and a motorhome sales and an online shop.
A family business, Bunk Campers is headquartered in Belfast and was inspired by a tour of Australia and New Zealand in a campervan by founders Keith Charlton and Louise Corken.
