UUP leader Swann calls for unity candidate in West Tyrone

-

Brian Courtney: All nationalist voters should obliterate the SDLP in favour of Sinn Fein in order to neutralise these unionist sectarian pacts.

William Douglas: Where does he mention a unionist unity candidate?

Brian Courtney: The first line of the article.

Lewis Montgomery: Brian Courtney, you’re wrong. He is asking for a “unity” candidate and does not mention “unionist”. Sinn Fein is the sectarian party.

William Douglas: “Non-partisan candidate”, he says (to represent victims).

Sandra Walsh: Brian is blinded by the first few letters of the word “unity”. One-track mind, obviously.

Mac Mal:

The majority of people in West Tyrone want a united Ireland, so a unionist MP would not represent the wishes of the majority. So what message would that be sending?

Freddie Sands: We all know that won’t happen, Robin. West Tyrone is well-entrenched and indoctrinated by Sinn Fein. Even if Barry McElduff stood for election, he would be re-elected. That’s the state of this place, I’m afraid.

Michael O’Sullivan:

As opposed to being brainwashed by unionists’ version of Irish history in support of the largest colony in history achieved through the terrorism and genocide of the native people. How exactly did the British achieve a colony/empire, Freddie Sands? Hurry up now. I’m dying to hear how you

can justify this.

Matt Jones: So, Michael, the Celts, who came to Ireland from France and occupied the island, they were okay. The Scots, who lived in parts of Ulidia long before the Plantation, they were okay. The Vikings, who settled in Wexford, they were okay. How about the Normans? They are French. Is their invasion okay? Or is it just the Brits you don’t like?
