Dion Boucicault’s murderous melodrama has its basis in a real event in County Clare years ago.

The story of a landed gentleman’s desire to free himself from a secret marriage to a peasant girl in order to remarry and secure his property has been exuberantly adapted by Bruiser Theatre Company, which breathes new life into this old dog.
