Time running out for journalists of future to enter competition
JUST over a week is left to enter a competition to find budding reporters of the future.
Translink Little Reporters in association with the Belfast Telegraph is a journalism project for students aged eight to 11 (Primary 5–7) in Northern Ireland.
The schools project is returning for its second year as part of the transport company’s annual Bus & Train Week initiative.
The competition aims to give young people here the chance to make their own news real deadlines and broadcast it to our real life audience.
To take part, Primary 5, 6 and 7 classes are asked to produce news reports, photographs or videos to share with Belfast Telegraph readers which will tell them why public transport is so important to the people of Northern Ireland and why we should all get on-board.
To enter guidelines and teacher resources can be found here https:// www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/littlereporters.
Entries can be posted directly to; Little Reporters, Belfast Telegraph House, Clarendon Dock, 33 Clarendon Road, Belfast, BT1 3BG, or emailed directly to littlereporters@belfasttelegraph.co.uk before 5pm on Friday, May 11. Submissions will be judged by a team of experts from Belfast Telegraph and Translink.
One lucky class will be crowned ‘Translink Little Reporters 2018’, receiving some brilliant prizes including a media toolkit for their class (iPad, microphone and tripod) in addition to a Masterclass with Belfast Telegraph journalists and a school trip to W5 where the winning class will have the chance to explore the three main interactive exhibition areas.
To top it off their work will also be published in the Belfast Telegraph for all our readers to see.
