CLASSICAL Putting the spotlight on kids

Portico in Portaferry is running a summery Sails and Sounds Festival. As part of the programme, Northern Ireland Opera is joining in the fun by running a special Imagine! event tomorrow.
Throughout an interactive morning of music, art and craft, the children will go on a journey of playful engagement with themes of identity, discovery and fantasy, led by the singers of the Northern Ireland Opera Studio, who will perform music from a variety of fairytale operas and other operatic works for children.
The event is suitable for children of primary school age, and all children must be accompanied by an adult.
Tickets cost £7.50/£5 but are limited, so please book early to avoid disappointment.

The Mac, Belfast

Ruth Corry )isa harpist based in her home city of Belfast.
She plays a wide range of styles, with music from Ireland and across the British Isles, as well as popular and modern harp compositions.
Ruth released her debut album last August, and you can hear her live at the Mac when she gives a recital at lunchtime today.
The concert is free and open to all.
