Two new restaurant­s to open this autumn at Rushmere

FIVE Guys and Nando’s restaurant­s are on schedule to open at Rushmere Shopping Centre in Craigavon in October following completion of two new standalone units.

Nando’s, which currently has five outlets in Northern Ireland, will create up to 40 full and part-time posts, while Five Guys, with one other outlet here at the Victoria Centre in Belfast, will add an additional 60 posts in this expansion.

Rushmere manager Martin Walsh said: “Rushmere’s success is built on providing the best shopping experience and the right mix of retailers and catering provision in an outstandin­g location, and I’m delighted that our growing number of visitors will now be able to enjoy new culinary experience­s at these leading restaurant brands.

“This significan­t project cements our commitment to providing the very best one-stop retail, leisure and hospitalit­y experience, all under the one roof.”

Rushmere Shopping Centre opened in Craigavon 40 years ago and attracts more than 6.5m visitors a year.

The existing 350,000sq ft centre and 120,000sq ft retail park is anchored by Debenhams and Sainsbury’s.

Last year0 internatio­nal sport retailer Intersport opened its first new ‘concept’ superstore at Rushmere as part of a £350,000 investment, creating 12 jobs.
