Sinn Fein’s championing of rights ‘a sham’: Donaldson

-

Gus Geddes: SF/DUP themuns versus usuns. Keep peddling the same old fears. Neither party seems to understand irony. Just point-scoring politics, while all of us suffer because of this nonsense.

Robert Willett: Nope. Only one side wants devolved government to fail.

Sheila O’Neill: Robert Willett, is that the same side whose record includes Red Sky and RHI — not to mention Mr Paisley? And then we have issues like equal rights for all. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Matt Cooke: Unfortunately, the masses are cowards — too scared to try an alternative. How could anything be worse than this? I’m not telling anyone who to vote for, just don’t vote for the DUP, or Sinn Fein, if you ever want to see any change. Derek Leighton: No supporter of SF, but must laugh at a DUP politician talking about rights.

Eamon Crossey: Unreal. This party seems to be fracturing within its own ranks. No party should be waving the finger. All elected by the electorate, for the electorate. Yes, there may be differing views (which, in itself, is constructive and healthy); however, ignoring societal changes is truly incredible. Glenn Pollin: Very balanced, Eamon. I am a unionist and we can’t seem to find a party which appeals to those who want an inclusive society. I want the Union maintained, obviously, but not at the expense of minorities being marginalised. As for Sinn Fein, they have to be the worst cheerleaders for equality. They are an embarrassment. People seem to forget it was middle-of-the-road politics which forged the Good Friday Agreement. Eamon Crossey: Glenn, it’s a very sorry situation that we are in. It’s time people broke from ‘traditional’ ranks and thought outside the box. The most impoverished in our society are misled by so-called ‘educated’ people.

Glenn Pollin: Perhaps those are the most susceptible to manipulation.

Stephen O’Neill: Take responsibility for your own party’s words and actions, never mind deflecting.
