Of same, while Lyons set for exit

“I think confirmation is looking good now for Brad,” said Kearney.

“The paperwork has been in for a few days and we have been waiting to get verification. I suppose the FA have been inundated with late deals.”

Kearney, following the match, refused to be drawn on the vacant hotseat at St Mirren after the sacking of Alan Stubbs last night, who pipped the Bannsiders chief to the Saints role just three months ago.

Kearney impressed during his interview and will once again be on St Mirren’s radar, however former Ross County boss Jim McIntyre has been suggested as his replacement for Stubbs.

Kearney’s verdict: “I think it would be absolutely crazy for me to even entertain anything along those lines and take away from what was a brilliant performance from Coleraine Football Club.

“At this moment in time I wouldn’t be willing to comment on it.”

For Crusaders this was their second defeat in five league games following a loss to David Healy’s Linfield. Not the start the champions anticipated, especially under their new full-time regime at Seaview.

Baxter, who had an “honest conversation” with his players after the match, said: “You’ve seen a performance where we huffed and puffed but couldn’t blow the wall down. I thought they scored against the run of play after a horrendous mistake by us and then it was all us until they got their second goal which was another horrendous mistake from us.

“You can’t concede those goals at this level of the game and Coleraine punished our mistakes.

“Coleraine will be ultra pleased as we heard from them going into their dressing room after the game but long runs the fox.”
