Belfast, but Cave won’t be using travel fatigue as an excuse for any flat performance tomorrow. “It’s a bit different to our normal trips away to Wales and Scotland but we were well looked after and now that we’re here we’re feeling good.

“Because it’s a Sunday game, we got some good preparation done on Monday and Tuesday in Belfast and now we’re ready to rock.

“The biggest difference has been loading that early part of the week and then the travel (time). But apart from that it’s not actually that different to our normal, the weather is not too warm so it’s not ridiculously different.” NEW St Mirren manager Oran Kearney says his players have now set a high standard after holding Scottish champions Celtic to a scoreless draw in Paisley last night.

The former Coleraine manager’s first game as Buddies boss was a daunting test against fellow Ulsterman Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic but in front of the highest attendance at St Mirren Park since January, 2009, the home side frustrated the Hoops.

Olivier Ntcham’s first-half red card blotted an unconvincing display by the visitors but Kearney was thrilled to claim his first point since an emotional exit from Coleraine.

“The bar is set, the players have shown their hand early and it’s nice to see what they can do,” said the 40-year-old on the same night Coleraine appointed Rodney McAree as his successor.

“Now they have done that, that’s my standard for every week

“I’ll admit, I’d have probably bitten your arm off for a point before the game.”
