Ulster can hit the heights again: Jordi

EDEN Hazard predicted more fireworks against Liverpool on Saturday after hitting a superb winner at Anfield in the third round of the Carabao Cup last night.

The Reds’ seven-match winning start to the season ended when Chelsea came from behind to win 2-1.

With a Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge to come on Saturday night between the sides, Hazard said:

“I think the game on

Saturday is going to be more important because of the win today and in the league they are also incredible. It’s a good confidence boost and we need to try and beat them on Saturday.”

Meanwhile, Paul Pogba (above) has moved closer to a big move to Barcelona after he had a tense exchange with his manager Jose Mourinho at the start of a training session just one day after the World Cup winner was stripped of the club’s vice-captaincy role. ULSTER’S Jordi Murphy has warned he did not leave Leinster to play for second best.

The flanker arrived at Kingpan Stadium this summer having been part of a squad that won seven major trophies during his time at the RDS.

“I don’t think you can compare them (Ulster and Leinster) because they’re two completely different set-ups but one thing I can say is that Ulster Rugby is incredibly ambitious,” he said. “They want to do as well as they can in both competitions. If you’re aiming for third or fourth, what’s the point in playing?

“I didn’t leave somewhere where you strive to be the best to strive for second or third. Day in day out, everyone is going into that club to try and be the best player they can and ultimately to bring Ulster back up.”

Meanwhile, the province are continuing to monitor the knee injury sustained by winger Henry Speight last week. Only in Belfast until the end of December, the Wallaby is already ruled out of this weekend’s clash with Munster but could be set for a more substantial period on the sidelines. Craig Gilroy and Will Addison could be back on Saturday back, however.
