Dr Leah enjoys record year’s sales and profit
THE cosmetic skincare company set up by Apprentice winner and Londonderry woman Dr Leah Totton has reported an increase in turnover from £1.3m to £1.6m
In unaudited accounts for the year ending June 30, 2018, Dr Leah Ltd also reported growth in pre-tax profits for the year from £268,487 to £375,804.
The medical doctor, who announced her engagement to her as yet-unidentified partner last week, won the BBC business reality TV show in 2013.
The 30-year-old joins Apprentice host Lord Sugar as the company’s two directors.
The company’s detail profit and loss account reveals that sales of treatments came to just under £1.4m, while product sales reached £136,079. Other income came to £26,876.

“It was a record year in terms of both sales and profit.
“The business continues to go from strength to strength with two further Dr Leah clinics opening in London within the next 12 months and a Dr Leah skincare line launching in October of 2019.”
At the moment there are two Dr Leah clinics specialising in non-surgical cosmetic medicine — one on London’s Chiswell Street and the other at Loughton in Essex.
The clinics offer treatments ranging from “rejuvenation” and “enhancement” treatments to fat reduction procedures.
She said there were no imminent plans to open in Northern Ireland, but added: “I am however keen to have a presence in Ireland and Dublin as a potential area of interest for us.”
A directors’ report filed with the accounts said: “The board are pleased to report an increase in sales and profit for the year, resulting in both record sales and profit to date. Both clinics continue to perform well and in line with their financial targets.
“The board remains confident that with the steps already taken, together with the continued growth of the brand name, this will result in further demand for our services and we are confident that the business will continue to grow.
“The new financial year has started well and the company continues to grow in line with expectations.”
Dr Totton went to Foyle and Londonderry College before going on to study medicine at the University of East Anglia. She began working as a doctor in 2011.
