Limavady company finishes work on Center Parcs lodges
NORTHERN Ireland off-site building firm FastHouse — part of Kevin Lagan’s group of companies — has finished work on nearly 500 lodges at Ireland’s first Center Parcs.
FastHouse, which is based in Limavady, built 466 lodges at the new Center Parcs leisure village in Longford in under nine months.
FastHouse also revealed it was making “significant investment” in order to operate fully in the housebuilding market in the Republic. The firm said that during 2019, it will be in a position to deliver 1,500 units “with significantly lower costs and reduced construction time”.
And it said its ultimate aim is to become the largest producer of off-site panelised wall systems in Ireland and the UK. FastHouse began work at the €233m leisure attraction in January, in the company’s first venture into the Republic of Ireland market.
It has worked on 10 different types of accommodation at Center Parcs.
The company is also working on residential developments across Northern Ireland and the UK. And it’s building holiday lodges at the award-winning Killyhevlin Lakeside Hotel & Spa in Enniskillen.
Earlier this month, Kevin Lagan and his sons announced they had set up a vehicle for investments after selling the majority of their other interests for £455m. Lagan Group sold its cement, quarrying and aggregates business to Breedon Group. However, the family company retained ownership of housebuilding firm Lagan Homes, as well as FastHouse. The investment vehicle has also backed tourist attraction The Vaults in Dublin.
