MLA claims Ulster flags hurting Limavady traders

-

Meta Harkin: There is nothing to come to Limavady for. I live here — I go to Derry to shop. Traders’ fault for not letting in multinational companies, like B&M, Iceland and more. No one to blame but council and traders. Coleraine going same way. People go to shop in Asda due to no competition in Limavady. Do something to change that and stop crying about flags.

John Hewitt: I recently drove into Limavady from Dungiven. Thought I had taken a wrong turn as all lamp posts had a tricolour flying. One side is as bad as the other.

Joanne Armstrong: Take them all down. It’s not rocket science.

Sean Mee: While I agree with him, it’s a bit one-sided. I don’t think the tricolours and starry plough are doing much for the area, either.

Cathy Thompson: Never heard such rubbish. No wonder Stormont is shut if that’s all they’re worried about.

Alan Mac Amhalai: It’s not even the Ulster flag.

John Wilson: SDLP crying again.

James O’Kane: John Wilson, typical flegger logic. Don’t worry about the economy, or local businesses, as long as the flag is flying. I’m guessing that you aren’t running a

business in the town.

John Wilson: James O’Kane, it’s not a sectarian flag.

Eamonn McCann: John Wilson, it’s sectarian if it’s put up with only the purpose to provoke. And I’m talking about all flags here.

Adam McKnight: Who’d believe it? Ulster flags are stopping people from going into the shops. Like, are all entrances blocked

with Ulster flags, or what?

Willy Boyce: Still running Northern Ireland all the same.

Alan Mac Amhalai: Willy Boyce, loyalists don’t run the six counties.

Glenda Gregg: Must be a big flag to block a whole load of shops. If you want to shop, a flag won’t stop you.

Margaret Johnston: Get a life.
