UCD next up for St Mary’s as Ulster survivors make last four

ST Mary’s will fly the solo Ulster flag in the Sigerson Cup after they beat Maynooth on a scoreline of 0-15 to 0-13 to reach the last four.

They will now meet UCD after the Dublin college hammered city rivals, DCU.

Ulster University crashed out at the hands of NUIG by the narrowest of margins losing 1-7 to 0-6, UUC will play NUIG in the other semi-final after the Cork side hammered IT Carlow.

In the MacRory Cup, Omagh CBS will face St.Patrick’s Armagh after Tyrone school dismissed St.Colman’s, Newry.

While St.Pat’s knocked out holders knocked out St.Ronan’s, Lurgan.

While St.Pat’s Maghera take on after beating the academy in Dungannon to reach the last four.

They will face St.Michael’s Enniskille­n who accounted for Abbey CBS.

In ladies’ football, Donegal made it two wins from two in Division One beating Mayo 3-9 to 2-7 thanks to two goals from Ciara Grant and one from Karen Guthrie.

Mick Bohan’s Dublin got the defence of their Division One title back on track with a comprehens­ive 6-9 to 2-8 win over Tipperary in Ardfinnan.

Goals were the order of the day for the Sky Blues as they raised six green flags — three in each half — with two each for Siobhan Killeen and Lyndsey Davey in an emphatic Dublin performanc­e.

While in Division Two, Tyrone beat Laois in Healy Park.

Derry fell to defeat in Leitrim, Armagh beat Cavan, Antrim beat Fermanagh while Down lost in Wicklow.
