Johnson ‘puzzled’ to hear no portrait of Queen at Stormont House

-

Jake Donnelly: What difference would it make to your life if the portrait was up or down?

Keith Dunwoodie: Do you really need a picture of the Queen in the workplace? It serves absolutely no purpose in a modern multicultural society.

Trevor McIlwrath: It might be a multicultural society, but it’s in part of the UK. If you don’t like it, don’ t stay in it taking its jobs, healthcare and other benefits. Go where you feel you would be happier.

Keith Dunwoodie: I already did, years ago.

Phil J Watson: I spent nine hours in the A&E department of one of our local hospitals two nights ago, waiting with an elderly relative until a hospital bed could be found for them. There I watched overwhelmed nurses and doctors struggle to cope. That’s what I find that offensive.

Lorna Murdock: The Prime Minister should order it to be put back up. It’s a government building and Queen Elizabeth is our Queen.

Perry Moore: How was this ever allowed to happen? Does this mean that if someone does not like a painting or photograph of someone or a place, they can feel offended and then get a claim? I am offended at this reported payout. Who do I claim off?

Agnes Todd: Get something done about this, Boris, now. Get the portrait of Her Majesty the Queen reinstated where it should be.

Wilma McMillan: What is this country coming to? We are British and the Queen is the head of state. If an employee is so offended by the Queen’s photo, why did they apply for a job there in the first place?

Peter Bower The continual reduction in anything British in Northern Ireland is highly likely to receive a serious backlash. The Good Friday Agreement works both ways.
