Heartbreak after grandmother finds body
A FAMILY has been left devastated after a 19-year-old west Belfast woman died suddenly just months after her mother.
Seaneen Irvine (19) was found dead by her grandmother yesterday. Fr Patrick McCafferty said: “I buried her mother Lindsey in March, who died suddenly and tragically as well.
“The only thing I can possibly say about this is that it’s absolutely heartbreaking.”
A FAMILY in west Belfast has been hit by tragedy for the second time this year after the sudden death of a 19-year-old woman just months after her mother passed away.
Seaneen Irvine (19) was found dead by a relative yesterday in a property at New Barnsley Park.
A police spokesperson said they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the sudden death and that a post mortem examination is to be carried out.
The young woman’s mother, Lindsey Irvine, also died suddenly this year, on March 15.
Fr Patrick McCafferty from the Corpus Christi Parish was called to the family home yesterday.
“I buried her mother Lindsey in March, who died suddenly and tragically as well,” he said.
“Seaneen is only 19, so the family now have to deal with that too.
“I was called to the home this morning after her grandmother found her body.
“The only thing I can possibly say about this is that it’s absolutely heartbreaking.”
Sinn Fein councillor Michael Donnelly said: “The local community is in shock after the discovery of a young woman’s body in New Barnsley Park.
“Our thoughts are with this woman’s family and friends at this difficult time.”
Since her mother’s death, Ms Irvine had frequently shared messages and photos of them together on social media.
One poignant message read: “You don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone has to be the truest saying ever.
“I always wonder what life would be like if you were still here and how different a lot of things would be.
“It gets harder every day without you here, we all love and miss you more each day.”
The young woman is survived by three siblings — Ryan, Daniel and Joedi.
As the shocking news emerged yesterday, many friends took to social media to share their own tributes.
One friend, Katie Herald, wrote: “Can’t believe I’m writing this, not one wee girl I loved more than Seaneen Irvine.
“It was only yesterday we were saying how much we loved each other, gonna miss (you) so much my ‘sis in law’ as we used to call each other.
“Love you forever, thinking of my boyfriend and his family at this sad time.”
Former school friend KJ McIlhone said in a Facebook post she was “feeling heartbroken”.
“I genuinely can’t believe the news I’ve woke up to.
“Was in Seaneen’s class from first year right up and she was the nicest girl ever.
“Rest in peace angel, now with your wee mummy.
“You’ll never be forgotten.” Another pal added: “Rest in peace beautiful girl.
“Funny, smart, always up for a good laugh, bubbly and someone (who) would put others before yourself.
“You’re in the arms of your mummy now.”
Brendan O Mhoidhe added: “Can’t believe I have woke to hear such sad news that a lifelong friend has gained her angel wings.
“We have so many memories together especially when we were in Poland. I will cherish these memories for the rest of my life. You were such an amazing girl... RIP.
“Forever in my heart my friend.”
Cristiona Hamill said Seaneen “would put others before yourself ”, adding that she was “in the arms of your mummy now”.
