Government rules out stepping in to save Harland & Wolff

-

Gerard Myers: I can find viable funding. It’s up at Stormont.

Lisa Lynn: Stop foreign aid and put it into our own country.

Daniel O’Connell: Stop arming and training the Saudis and other despotic regimes to kill and starve hundreds of thousands of children, like in Yemen. Also stop arming extremist regimes all over the world. And stop destroying entire countries. Then a lot of people won’t need ‘aid’.

Ben Freeman: Foreign aid also helps provide clean water, food and shelter. That’s something that we really shouldn’t stop helping with, albeit it does need to be much more focused.

Stephen O’Neill: Which is more important: £34bn lost to tax evasion or £14bn to foreign aid? I know which one I’d be giving off about. Stephen Hylands: So much for the DUP at the heart of government. When will Northern Ireland wise up to the DUP? Only interested in filling their own pockets.

John Campbell: And the rest who collect their wages and don’t turn up at Stormont.

Robert Quee: Nothing to do with the DUP. EU laws don’t allow the Government to do it. Another reason to leave the EU. Patrick Carson: This is the most right-wing Tory government in history. Do you seriously think that they’re going to nationalise a shipyard in Belfast when they’ve been privatising everywhere else?

Gerry McDermott: Another example of the Brits disengaging from Ireland.

Peter Moon: Northern Ireland is the name. Are you that uneducated? Gerard Traynor: The north of the island of Ireland.

Marie Dunseath: Go down south then and see how long they will have you, seeing as they can’t even manage to look after their own.

Francis Higgins: If Jeremy Corbyn was Prime Minister, the yard would be renationalised. Proves that, once again, turkeys really do vote for Christmas.
