- BY MARK McCONVILLE

Foundation: Roisin Donnelly DONNELLY Group is seeking applications from local community organisations to receive funding for projects that promote environmental awareness, physical and mental wellbeing, education or skills development.

The organisation will provide financial support for chosen projects through the Donnelly Group Foundation, which was launched in July to formalise the process for charitable donations, community support and staff volunteering opportunities.

Applications for the first round of funding are now open for projects and groups near the group’s nine locations across Northern Ireland.

Donnelly Group Foundation spokesperson Roisin Donnelly said: “The Donnelly Group has supported the local community for more than 70 years and the Donnelly Group Foundation was established to build on that.

“For every retail vehicle sold, Donnelly Group will make a donation to the Donnelly Group Foundation, and these funds will then be used to financially support charities, causes and organisations.

“This initiative is a really exciting development in our commitment to corporate social responsibility, allowing us to support a larger volume of projects. It is something that all of our employees can get involved in.”

With three rounds of funding available within each 12-month period, applications will be accepted for this first round of funding until September 30.

The group has also announced a charity partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support and an additional day of leave called the Donnelly Group Foundation Day, for all 800 employees to partake in volunteering.
