McGuinness and Paisley ‘terror role’ claims

-

Frankie Lopez: I wish I could see this documentary from here in Houston. Would be interesting.

Chris Loonytoon: It’s well known that Ian Paisley was instrumental in the formation of the UPV, who had strong links to the UVF and are believed to be one of the catalysts of the Troubles. Their first act was bombing a school because the people of Ardoyne decided to talk to each other in an attempt to have better relations across communities. Marty might not have been innocent, but Ian Paisley was no saint either.

Patrick Morgan: I think we all did — or thought — things during the Troubles which we are not proud of. DUP need to get on with the day job.

Roberta Harte: Patrick Morgan, many of us didn’t.

Ralph McKay: Why do we keep harping back to the past? Who’s going to stand up and shape our children’s futures?

Mark Lorimer: Marty the tout had a free rein to do as he wished from his British handlers.

Alison McClean: It’s a BBC documentary — there’s a reason why many of us have stopped watching TV and cancelled our licences.

William Miller: That could explain the inane chuckling of the two of them when they posed for the cameras after their carve-up was agreed.

Gary Scott: Why keep bringing this up every day in life?

Andrew Gray: Time to move on for all our sakes.

Francis Massey: Not helping the peace by regurgitating the past.

Lewis Jennings: All the folks here trying to say move on and trying to say that both sides did wrong. But if it was someone from a unionist party, you would raise the roof about it. Wise up, folks.

Daire Patrizio: Lewis Jennings, it is someone from a unionist party: Paisley paid for the bombs. But we’re not learning anything new from these reports.

Tony Mulholland: Lewis Jennings, a new level of blinkered viewing.
