Lynn could make all the difference in Star’s pursuit of glory: Fulton

Looking good: Adrian Fulton is happy with his Star options COACH Adrian Fulton says young Dominic Lynn can play a key role in Belfast Star’s bid for silverware this season.

Lynn came off the bench in Sunday’s 77-61 victory over Maree and helped drive Star over the line when the sides were separated by only one basket.

While Delaney Blaylock had his best game since arriving from the States, top scoring with 27 points and defensively keeping Darin Johnson quiet, it was Lynn who stood out in the second half with his poise and grit.

“I was really pleased with the way that Dominic impacted the game in such a major way,” said Fulton.

“The scoreline looks as if the game was more comfortable for us than it actually was at times and particularly at the point I brought Dominic on.

“Credit to Dominic because he hadn’t played in the first half but his attitude was great and he brought a real energy to the side and athleticism that we needed.

“There’s no doubt in my mind that he can play a big role this season for us. He’s got the height and the character to do very well and that means we have more quality in depth.”

While Lynn and Blaylock stood out for Star, just how well Fulton’s son CJ is performing for the Belfast men cannot be overlooked.

Fulton’s scoring percentage has been outstanding since the start of the season and it could be argued that the Belfast men need to provide him with more opportunities such has been his prowess.

Star are now hoping to make it back-to-back home wins when they entertain Moycullen this Saturday night at La Salle.
