- BY ADAM McKENDRY

QUEEN’S University made it three wins from three as they moved to the top of the Division 2A standings with a 26-17 bonus point win over Dolphin.

Two tries from Stuart McIlwaine and further scores from Fal El Vave and Michael Orr saw the students come away with the maximum haul from Irish Independent Park.

Rainey are just three points behind in third after grabbing a bonus point win of their own with a 26-21 victory at U.L. Bohemians thanks to scores from Andy Magrath (2), Jason Bloomfield and Michael McCusker.

Meanwhile, Ballymena are still waiting for their first win of the season but they continue to rack up bonus points as they got two in a 31-26 defeat at Buccaneers, keeping them in seventh place.

In Division 2B, 16 points from the boot of fly-half Coby Miln helped Belfast Harlequins pick up their first win of the season as they accounted for Galway Corinthians 31-15 at Deramore Park.

Miln was also among the tries, although he was overshadowed by his half-back partner Conor McAuley grabbing two of his own in the victory that takes Quins up to seventh.

Elsewhere there was frustration for Dungannon as they battled through two yellow cards but were still beaten by a late Malahide penalty as the visitors came away with a 20-19 victory from Stevenson Park, dropping ’Gannon to ninth in the table and still without a win this season.

City of Derry came away with the bragging rights in the Ulster derby in Division 2C as Callum O’Hagan’s late score edged them to a 23-17 victory over Omagh Accies at Judges Road.

Phil Ewing’s try had seemingly won the game for Omagh, but Derry struck with time almost up as O’Hagan charged over for his second of the contest to send Derry up to seventh in the table and drop Omagh to sixth.

Meanwhile, Clonmel staged a second half comeback to condemn Bangor to their second defeat of the season, the Ulster side beaten 17-10 at Upritchard Park.
