DUP olive branch to nationalists on Irish language

-

Sean O Cuinn:

Funnily enough, there’s a U2 lyric for her: “This desperation, dislocation/Separation, condemnation/Revelation, in temptation/ Isolation, desolation/Let it go and so fade away/To let it go, oh yeah, and so fade away.”

Dave Hutch:

That useless decision (if true) will cost a few votes. No one needs an Irish Language Act.

Nick McCay:

She moves in mysterious ways.

Kieran Coleman:

Really? Why? I think it’s a great analogy that sums it up perfectly.

Alex Lyttle:

Remember: Foster said she will leave Ulster if there is a united Ireland. Don’t trust the DUP.

Cormac McCloskey:

Hard to believe this isn’t a political stunt: get Sinn Fein back to the talks’ table, then slip in a few catches they know SF won’t agree to, then the talks will collapse again and Foster can come out and blame it on everyone else.

Joanna Rosbotham:

When Arlene was acting like the Queen of Westminster, she wasn’t interested in offering olive branches to anyone. I wonder what could have changed? Does the little fish in the big pond want back to the wee puddle?

Jouni Hiltunen:

“Please help us out of this hole we dug ourselves into.”

Aimee White:

Does no one else see what she is doing here? She is manipulating with hidden intentions.

Mark Neale:

Arlene offered that before, but her party colleagues refused to play. Isn’t that why the last non-deal collapsed? But maybe, now that abortion and same-sex marriage have been got around, they are willing now.

Ron Ballard:

The DUP are getting desperate. Let them stew.

Luke Stynes:

They overplayed their hand years ago. They will be punished at the ballot box.

Ronnie Matthews:

Will they? They just play the sectarian card, as they do at every election. Time the DUP and SF worked for all the people, rather than themselves. Why couldn’t they have done this 1,000 days ago? Grandstanding at its worst.
