Armagh eye win despite important players missing

ARMAGH face a formidable assignment against Meath in Division Two of the Lidl Ladies NFL at the Athletic Grounds tomorrow (2.00).

The visitors will come to the Primatial City boosted by wins over Tyrone and Monaghan while the Orchard County side have lost to the Red Hands and Kerry thus ensuring that they will now go in against the Royal County under added pressure.

To add to their woes, Tiarna Grimes and Catherine Marley are likely to be unavailable for Armagh but with Aoife McCoy, Caroline O’Hanlon and current skipper Kelly Mallon in fine form, the home team might just get the boost they need.

Tyrone, meanwhile, will have home advantage against Wexford who fell to Armagh by 4-18 to 1-1.

Neamh Woods is the midfield heartbeat of a Tyrone side that is making a big push for promotion but will not be taking anything for granted against Wexford.

In Division Three, Fermanagh face a tricky task against Laois.

Manager Johnny Garrity is hoping that his side can slip into a more fluent style of play and will look to Eimear Smyth to bolster his attack.

Smyth is usually the team’s main source of scores and she could have a key role tomorrow.

In Division Four, Derry will host Louth in a game that both teams will be particularly keen to win after indifferent starts to the league.

In Division Two Group One of the Littlewoods Camogie League, Derry will make the long haul to Ballinasloe to take on Galway while Antrim are scheduled to host Tipperary in Division Two Group Three at Ahoghill (2.00).

Tyrone, meanwhile, will be favourites to overcome Cavan at Greencastle (2.00) where the Red Hand girls aim to make the most of home advantage.
