McCausland airport car-park in refund row after flights cancelled

Lorraine Crymble: Our flight to Feurteventura was cancelled on Saturday morning. We emailed McCauslands and they haven’t even had the manners to reply. What good is a credit note?

Carly Daley: Imagine offering a “credit note” for car-parking. Should have got their money back ... no question.

Nicola Burns-Wolfe: This is another reason why we’ll not use them again.

Denise O’Hagan: Iam sorry you all have such bad experiences with McCauslands, personally I have not and have used them for about 15 years and have had a refund when I could not travel. These are exceptional times at the moment that we are experiencing and everyone is under such strain. Let’s try and be kind to each other, there is a long way to go yet.

Irwin Montgomery: Just did the same to me and I informed them on Sunday, so requested a new date, as you can change 48 hours before your departure, and got a reply that they’ll reply in 72 hours.

Jeff Calvert: Same happened to us a few years ago after our holiday was cancelled. Very little help getting a credit note for holiday parking.

Good to hear that as a goodwill gesture they are refunding/credit note.

Well, people now know who not to use in the future. I had a very bad experience with them 20 years ago, hence never used again. At least their behaviour is consistent.

Ihad booked the airport main stay car-park and got refunded the minute I cancelled. Sometimes it pays to pay a little extra.

I don’t understand people saying shame on them. Their business will be taking a bigger hit than most right now. If they go bankrupt and lay off their 50 staff, is that a better outcome?

Same happened to us last year with the Thomas Cook flight cancellations. I was told no refund, then eventually given a refund.

Very bad PR from McCausland’s. Hopefully people will remember this when things get back to normal.
