IRISH League stars are playing their part in bringing us all some light relief in a time of huge anxiety.

As the global coronavirus epidemic continues to wreak havoc and leave many isolated within their own homes, players and other stars from Gaelic football have helped to ease our collective boredom.

Videos are continuing to emerge on social media of players showing off their silky skills in back gardens across the country.

Being in self-isolation is little fun so the players joined in the ‘toilet roll challenge’, ‘10 touch challenge’ or ‘stay at home challenge’ involving kick-ups with, you guessed it, loo roll.

But there’s a greater array of skills on display as demonstrated by the ‘HometopBinchallenge’, asking players to bury a ball in a wheelie bin with remarkable precision.

Glenavon’s Josh Daniels (above) accepted the challenge with an overhead kick which saw the ball land sweetly in the bin.

Larne’s Andrew Mitchell demonstrated his prowess with a toilet roll and by finding the bin from distance and he nominated his team-mate Marty Donnelly, Linfield defender Josh Robinson and Crusaders ace Billy Joe Burns to accept the challenge.

Crusaders defender Sean Ward impressively kept a toilet roll in the air by keeping it attached to a lead, while former Linfield skipper Michael Gault went about the task with all his winner’s medals wrapped around his neck. Among the GAA players joining in the fun before the resumption of sport is Antrim’s Matthew Fitzpatrick, who booted a ball into a basketball net.
