Calls for virus tests in meat plants after Moy Park worker’s death

- Jimmy Bee

Natalie Mcgoldrick: My understanding is that all key workers and their household are entitled to a test. They can book an appointment for the test online.

Angela Morrison: Unless they changed the rules again, the last I heard you only get tested if you have symptoms.

Natalie Mcgoldrick: If you’re a key worker and you believe you may have been in contact with someone who has the virus then you should be able to book a test.

Andrena Letitia: My daughter is front line and got tested, as did the whole household two weeks ago... booked online. It’s an eerie experience I must admit, though.

Margaret Donnell: And retail workers should be able to get tests too. We face the public every single day.

Amanda Bell: I am a front line worker in a Covid-19 ward in the NHS . My son works in Moy Park and I feel he could be at risk also.

Paula Montgomery: Was it not said last week that key workers here can now make a call to request a test. Surely those in retail and food processing are key workers?

Paul Mcwhirter: Coronavirus remains a deadly threat across the country. That death toll will continue to rise.

How can a country that makes the test kits have the least tests done in the whole of Europe? That is right... England grabbed the test kits and sent back crumbs.

Hugh M: Because people don’t go and get tested. Some people need the government to hold their hand.

Robin Dick: Moy Park have to pay for a test as it’s the company’s responsibility for the health and safety of its workers.

Ronan Tansey: Those who are involved in food production already can get a test.
